Direct responsibility for all general law matters in Texas. Supervisory responsibility
for all law matters in Oklahoma. State and Federal trials and appeals. Served as
operational counsel for Texas. Duties included legal interface with local communities
regarding feasibility and placement of railroad crossings and warning devices, legal
support for real estate department regarding railroad property lease and title claims,
management of environmental law matters, including chemical and petroleum spills,
diesel emission claims and negotiation and settlement of TNRCC reclamation claims.
Additional responsibilities included management of outside counsel for Texas and
Oklahoma cases, legal support for railroad spur service and abandonment issues and
collection of delinquent freight charges.
